Wednesday Blog Watch - Bits & Pieces
This week at Wednesday Blog Watch we have a few notes of around-the-web happenings:
-The MIT Libraries just made available online an Irving Singer lecture about the late Ingmar Bergman. In this lecture, Singer (author of Ingmar Bergman, Cinematic Philosopher), discusses how Bergman used philosophical ideas with his masterful cinematic technique to
examine the particularities of human experience. Singer also describes
how Bergman wove aspects of his own life’s story into his films, in
intense and vivid ways.
-SUNY Press announced its DirectText initiative of simultaneous editions of electronic and hardcover books.
-BookSlut recently delved into the writings and work of dadaist Francis Picabia, via reviews of two recent MIT Press books on this topic (I Am a Beautiful Monster and The Artwork Caught by the Tail).
-Sun Volt Solar Blog has listed top reference books for the solar professional, including 1991's Solar Collectors, Energy Storage, and Materials.
