We note with sadness the passing of our author Anne Friedberg, who died on October 9 after a long battle with colorectal cancer. At the time of her death, Friedberg taught at the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California. She was the author of The Virtual Window: From Alberti to Microsoft, a wide-ranging, interdisciplinary meditation on the idea of the window that we published in 2006. She leaves her husband, screenwriter Howard Rodman, and a son.
