Professor Bruce Brown, editor of Design Issues, has been appointed as chair of one of the four main panels in the forthcoming Research Excellence Framework (REF) by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).
The REF will assess the quality of UK research through a process of peer review managed by HEFCE. Bruce Brown, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research at the University of Brighton and Professor of Design, will oversee Main Panel D, responsible for the assessment of research across the arts and humanities.
