I received this book last Christmas. Even as a ham I found it a bit tedious but the information was wonderful. And as a ham that spent 98 days deployed in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita I can personally attest to the volunteer spirit of my fellow hams and their dedication to the welfare of others, often at their own expense!

Hi I came across this post and just wanted says thanks for recognizing the contributions that ham radio operators around the world make. When disaster strikes an area often the only means of immediate communication will be the Hams. People don't realize it, but the guy living next door to you with the massive antenna on the roof could play a key role if a disaster every struck your area. Thanks again.
